This week's Prog-Watch is another one of those mash-ups that I like to refer to as a variety show...just a bunch of great progressive rock, new and old, but with an emphasis on the new(er). We'll hear music from Yes, Neal Morse, Renaissance, Flying Colors, Karibow, Flutatious, Steven Wilson, Kino, Riverside & Vinegar Joe! Get out of your brain on the Prog-Watch 515! This show is part of the Spreaker Prime Network, if you are interested in advertising on this podcast, contact us at https://www.spreaker.com/show/3136310/advertisement

I love the Moody Blues, and I loved Ray Thomas. Late last year I had even resolved to attempt to contact him and interview him for this program. Sadly, that would never come to be as he left this world in early January of this year. So my idea to do a retrospective feature on a legendary man and his music became a tribute to a beloved figure, whom I was never lucky enough to meet, but feel like I knew through his songs. This tribute program covers much of his career with the Moody Blues and a few from his two wonderful solo albums from the mid-1970s. I respectfully dedicated it to Ray's family and all who knew and loved him. This show is part of the Spreaker Prime Network, if you are interested in advertising on this podcast, contact us at https://www.spreaker.com/show/3136310/advertisement

This week on Prog-Watch my special guest is none other than Nick Barrett...founder, composer, guitarist and vocalist for the classic UK band Pendragon! The band is celebrating their 40th anniversary this year, so Nick and I had plenty to talk about! With such a vast back catalog of great music from which to choose, I also had no problem selecting great tunes to spin along the way!   This show is part of the Spreaker Prime Network, if you are interested in advertising on this podcast, contact us at https://www.spreaker.com/show/3136310/advertisement

Prog-Watch 510 - To Camelot!

Lords and Ladies of Adventure! Join me on this week's Prog-Watch for a look at the Legend of King Arthur and the Knights of the Round Table as portrayed in Progressive Rock music! The program will, of course, draw a bit on Rick Wakeman's two albums dealing with the Arthurian Legend. But I've also found great tunes from Kayak, The Minstrel's Ghost, Finisterre, Erik Norlander, Galahad, and Children In Paradise, which all deal with the characters and story surrounding the  Legendary English King. I've also peppered the show with a few other references for a little comic relief, if you know what I mean (wink, wink, nudge, nudge, say no more)! This show is part of the Spreaker Prime Network, if you are interested in advertising on this podcast, contact us at https://www.spreaker.com/show/3136310/advertisement

This week on Prog-Watch I'm shaking the family tree of a favorite band from my youth...The Alan Parsons Project! We'll be playing some classics from the band, exploring some offshoots and forerunners, and sampling the solo work of some of the core vocalists and musicians who made up the collective. We'll hear from the Project proper, as well as Keats, Pilot, Dave Paton, Colin Blunstone, Lenny Zakatek, and Chris Rainbow, and we'll check out some post-Project stuff from the two founders of the Project, Alan Parsons and Eric Woolfson. This show is part of the Spreaker Prime Network, if you are interested in advertising on this podcast, contact us at https://www.spreaker.com/show/3136310/advertisement
