This week the Son Of Prog-Squatch, Paul Rowsick, sits in again for a look at two more great Swedish bands! One of them is a newer group called A.C.T who play an energetic, guitar and keyboard driven brand of Prog with lush vocals that sometimes draw comparisons to Queen! The second band is a legendary seventies group recently reborn, called Kaipa! This group helped put the great Roine Stolt (of the Flower Kings, Transatlantic, the Tangent, etc.) on the Prog world map! For more information on this week's artists, you can visit:http://www.facebook.com/acttheband and http://kaipa.info/As always, send questions, suggestions or comments to progsquatch@gmail.com. If you follow on Twitter or like the Facebook page, you can see the Daily Classic album---a fun little feature which the Squatch sends out six days each week! We've been on the air for a year! In celebration we are offering this special episode in addition to the regularly scheduled episodes. A while back our friend Dan Foytik at the 9th Story Podcast was kind enough to interview the Squatch's band Novus and feature the interview and some Novus music in the 9th Story Podcast Episode 313. This is an excerpt from that episode which features the Squatch, his son, Paul, and author/stunt vocalist Nelson W Pyles talking about music, the creative process, Viagra, riding tigers, and various other topics. Dan acts as MC. Warning: the language and subject matter do get a little more "colorful" than your typical Prog-Watch episode! But we had fun doing it and we hope you have fun listening to it!This show is part of the Spreaker Prime Network, if you are interested in advertising on this podcast, contact us at https://www.spreaker.com/show/3136310/advertisement

Dave is back this week for a look at two really great Prog acts! First up is the unique Prog stylings of IO Earth, a UK project headed by Dave Cureton and Adam Gough, who handle much of the composing and instrumental chores. They have a wide variety of influences and weave them together in a sophisticated and compelling manner which can only be called “Prog”! In the second half of the show, the guys go back for more of the great Steve Hackett! Don't miss it...because as Dave may have said “It's Steve Hackett!”For more information on this week's artists, you can visit:http://www.ioearth.com/ and http://www.hackettsongs.com/As always, send questions, suggestions or comments to progsquatch@gmail.com. This week's episode is another great Variety Show! This time we revisit Ian Boddy (in collaboration with Markus Reuter), IQ, Knight Area, and Philhelmon! On the Watch List we also have a great band out of Sweden called Miosis, who are putting the finishing touches on their second album but still looking for a record company to release it! They have some good stuff, so if you know any record company execs, maybe you can put in a good word for them! (Seriously, they are quite good, and hopefully someone out there can help!) In the first part of this show, Tony and Dave take a look at U.S. band Shadow Circus! Guitarist and keyboardist John Fontana and vocalist David Bobick front this group which is sure to appeal to fans of traditional, Symphonic Prog and Heavy Prog! John also provided answers to the standard Prog-Watch questions, so you can get a little insight into the creative processes that lead to the music of Shadow Circus. In the second half of the show, the guys begin coverage on another Prog legend, Jon Anderson! Jon is, of course, the classic voice of Yes, and has more than 20 solo albums to his name! On this show the guys cover his first two albums---the epic “Olias Of Sunhillow” and his second “Song Of Seven”. Obviously, more of Jon will follow!
